Structured Transitional Living in Los Angeles

Where else can you change the trajectory of a life and still be done by noon on a Saturday? I’m so grateful to work shoulder-to-shoulder with so many loving people to share God’s love in a practical way. Compelled by Christ’s love, we envision a world New Beginning Recovery where no family recovering from homelessness is without the comfort of a furnished home.

Tour of our Sober Living in Southern California

  • Regardless of the situation they are striving to overcome, they all share a common theme –  the need for a new beginning.
  • Nevertheless, many families will prefer their sons start with us as they begin their mental health and recovery journey.
  • Participating in a community of like-minded men helps to keep them from social scenes such as bars, nightclubs, and house parties where alcohol and drugs can be easily accessed.
  • On board, I aim to help steer the organization with wisdom, compassion, and purpose.
  • The longer an individual stays in a safe, structured, and drug and alcohol-free environment, the more support they have.
  • Being part of a ministry that transforms lives by offering comfort and dignity to individuals and families is incredibly fulfilling.

For first time volunteers, join us in our mission to help others start to create a new life. Dave takes great pride and joy in being a small but hopefully successful part of the process. Individual care meets the needs of each patient, using personalized treatment to provide them the most relevant care and greatest chance of success. These structured living environments help people transition out of rehab. Residents have more freedom than they do during rehab, but still follow certain rules.

I am inspired by their commitment to providing support and resources, and I’m excited to contribute to this impactful initiative. My first experience with New LIfe Warehouse was serving as a volunteer to stage furniture for new clients. The mission is clear, the logistics are solid, and the impact is so tangible. Merging my passion for decorating with my heart for service felt like a dream come true! I love how many volunteers it takes each week to come together to help our community.

Sober living homes–also referred to as halfway houses–such as ours in Los Angeles are residential homes that provide a drug and alcohol-free environment for people in early recovery. Sober living homes provide the necessary support, encouragement, and safety helpful for recovery. Sober living houses are not halfway houses, and are also called “transitional living” or “recovery residence programs.” We are different from traditional sober living due to our approach and services.

New Beginning Recovery was relocated to Artesia Blvd. in Los Angeles, California in 1987 to continue to serve men in recovery.

We have homes near Redondo Beach and Los Angeles to help young men with personalized program options. Additionally, we can help them with employment or education opportunities, and ongoing recovery support. One of the primary benefits we offer our residents is there is no set limit to the length of residency.

Lastly, we offer powerful resources and vital education programs to residents. These help individuals develop the skills needed to keep their lives moving in a positive direction. On a day-to-day level, New Beginning Recovery provides a schedule, programming, and peer engagement. This helps facilitate the development of all of our client’s skills. There are daily chores, therapy, clinical groups, life skills groups, free time, exercise, and recreation.

How Long do you Stay in Sober Living?

When you begin to see signs that your daughter is heading down a destructive path, it is critical to act quickly. Early intervention—whether through counseling or, when necessary, placement at a structured program like New Lifehouse Academy—can make all the difference between a temporary struggle and a lasting crisis. Waiting too long often closes doors to easier solutions, making more intensive intervention unavoidable. If you are at the point where you know something must change, we are here to help you evaluate the situation and take immediate steps to get your daughter the life-changing support she needs before it is too late.

Your donations make a HUGE impact on our community and neighbors in need! Imagine having a kitchen but no pots or pans to cook with, or table to eat at. Your donations help ensure no one is eating or sleeping on the floor. You help improve the quality of their lives and provide them with dignity and hope. Empty houses are transformed into warm, safe, stable homes for families in need.

  • I got to a point where I truly believed that type of life was the only one I deserved to live.
  • Last, but not least, they do so in a community of their peers.

Through my experience, I’ve learned that there is always a way out, and nothing is beyond reach. The journey I’ve taken proves that transformation is possible, and recovery is not just a dream, but a reality. I was introduced to New Life Warehouse by one of their dedicated volunteers. With her encouragement, my husband and our 3 kids signed up to help with a Saturday furniture delivery.
